Rockhampton
Rockhampton is a city in Queensland, Australia. The city, which was originally established in 1858, had a population of 59,120 as 2003.
Rockhampton's main nickname is simply "Rocky". However, the city is also sometimes known as the "Beef Capital of Australia", in reference to the beef industry in the area. This industry encompasses widespread grazing, the Gracemere Saleyards which are one of the largest livestock sales facilities in Australia, the two large local abbattoirs, and a Beef Expo being held in the area every three years.
