Perth
Perth is the largest city and capital of the state of
Western Australia in Australia.
With a population of 1,507,90
(2006 estimate),
it is by far the largest city in the state (in fact almost three quarters of Western Australia's
inhabitants live in the city), as well being the 4th largest city in Australia over all.
The city was founded on
June 11th
1829 by Captain James Stirling, and intended to be to serve as a political center for the Swan
River Colony (which in 1832 became "Western Australia").
